Oceania Cruises to Europe

Oceania Cruises

The Oceania fleet consists of four mid-size ships; Regatta and Nautica accommodate 824 passengers and two newer builds, Marina (2011) and Riviera (2012) each carry 1,260 guests. These lovely ships are perfect for European cruising because they can sail into ports where larger ships cannot, from historic cities to charming towns nestled along sparkling coastlines.

While some people choose a cruise line for the bells and whistles the ships offer, guests that cruise to Europe with Oceania experience something quite different. Oceania bring, what some might call “the country club lifestyle” to sea. Their ships have a warm and intimate onboard atmosphere that’s elegant, but never pretentious. And with two staff members for every three guests, the level of personalized service is unrivaled.

Oceania ships have very port-intensive itineraries, so the onboard activities and entertainment are not as plentiful as on larger ships.  The cruise line does have an excellent enrichment program - classes, workshops, and lectures are all accessible to the passenger who thirsts for knowledge and personal growth. Each visit to a new port is preceded by a presentation on the historical background, culture, traditions and language of that destination.

Oceania’s European cruises appeal to travelers who want to visit exotic places with the convenience of a floating hotel. The focus is on longer itineraries that feature practically a new port every day and some overnight stays for two or more days. Depending on how deeply a guest wants to delve, he / she may opt for a shore excursion of a few hours or a full day. Multi-day land tours offered before or after a cruise offer an even more in-depth cultural immersion.

Culinary Discovery Tours, offered on select Oceania European cruises, presents a unique chance to experience the local culture and cuisine. There are opportunities for guests to taste the true flavors of a region in local homes and restaurants. Others may choose to shop at the waterfront fish market in port accompanied by a master chef, and then return to the ship’s Bon Appétit Culinary Center to prepare the local specialty themselves!

Oceania offers a vacation that emphasizes fine food and wine, luxurious accommodations, personalized service, and award winning European itineraries. From the gilded palaces of St. Petersburg to exotic Istanbul, there is no better way to explore than on an Oceania cruise to Europe.
